This book of stories is not like Disney。 It’s based on the original stories。 Some I had even forgotten or never beard the original (Puss in Boots)。 I found it very educational to learn about the authors and there original stories。

I loved the pictures and the stories。 I had never read the story of the Snow Queen and this gave me the opportunity to read it。 I saw a part where the evil magic mirror from the Land of Stories came in。

Heba

This was just a collection of classic fairytales, but it was fun

I've always loved fairy tales, and the way that Chris Colfer combined all of these fairy tales into his "Land Of Stories" series, is amazing。 I also, really loved listening to this because Chris Colfer reads it to you, and I loved Chris Colfer in Glee because of his voice。 Overall, this is a good book that adds to the "Land Of Stories" series, and a good audiobook, but nothing I haven't read before。 I've always loved fairy tales, and the way that Chris Colfer combined all of these fairy tales into his "Land Of Stories" series, is amazing。 I also, really loved listening to this because Chris Colfer reads it to you, and I loved Chris Colfer in Glee because of his voice。 Overall, this is a good book that adds to the "Land Of Stories" series, and a good audiobook, but nothing I haven't read before。 。。。more

This was a very nice collection of Fairy Tales。 Chris Colfer's take on the stories are enjoyable, with a nice touch of humour when needed。 You could read this with no prior knowledge of The Land of Stories -- the introduction and final note at the end make more sense if you have, but the stories themselves are what you would expect from this type of book。 Reading this reminded me of being quite young and having stories read aloud to me by my grandparents from the various Fairy Tale treasuries we This was a very nice collection of Fairy Tales。 Chris Colfer's take on the stories are enjoyable, with a nice touch of humour when needed。 You could read this with no prior knowledge of The Land of Stories -- the introduction and final note at the end make more sense if you have, but the stories themselves are what you would expect from this type of book。 Reading this reminded me of being quite young and having stories read aloud to me by my grandparents from the various Fairy Tale treasuries we had to choose from。 This one would have fit in well。 The illustrations were lovely -- I loved getting to see so much more of Brandon Dorman's art。 They were perfectly matched to the tone of the book。 I especially liked the artwork that went with the Nursery Rhymes。 I was struck by how bizarre most of those rhymes are -- and that I still know them well! 。。。more

I had been eyeing to buy this book forever, and finally relented。 I picked it up for reading pretty soon after receiving it in the book parcel, and it was hard to stop reading。 But then again, Colfer always knows how to put a spell on me。I enjoyed all of the stories, I read them aloud, as if I had an audience of little kids with me (if only!)。 Most of the stories I have read before, but it was still interesting to read them with the words written by Colfer。 The illustrations were pretty splendid I had been eyeing to buy this book forever, and finally relented。 I picked it up for reading pretty soon after receiving it in the book parcel, and it was hard to stop reading。 But then again, Colfer always knows how to put a spell on me。I enjoyed all of the stories, I read them aloud, as if I had an audience of little kids with me (if only!)。 Most of the stories I have read before, but it was still interesting to read them with the words written by Colfer。 The illustrations were pretty splendid too, they were just like the illustrations in fairy tale books I used to read when I was a kid myself。 They made me feel nostalgic。The only reason for it not being 5 star is because of the inclusion of Mother Goose's Nursery Rhymes。 For some reason, I never really cared for nursery rhymes。Mother Goose's Fairy Tale Guide was a nice touch though。 It was like the combination of The Mother Goose Diaries x Queen Red Riding Hood's Guide to Royalty, the other two books by Colfer。 。。。more

The Land of Stories: A Treasury of Classic Fairy Tales is a collection of classic fairy tales such a Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Little Red Riding Hood and so much more。 Each story familiar to everyone but retold by Chris Colfer and each one familiar to Alex and Conner when they fall into The Land of Stories。 Overall, The Land of Stories: A Treasury of Classic Fairy Tales was delightful, fun and magical。

Listened to this on our trip。 Our first truly successful family audiobook。 Olive adored this, and the stories are the right length/level for her。 I have a feeling I am going to get tired of listening to this。

this book is amazing!

I thought these were going to be new stories。 AllThe stories were rushed and nothing special。 While the stories were enjoyable, it just wasn’t what I expected。 I was really hoping for something linked more to the Land of Stories books。

This book contains the original version of the fairytales written by the Grimm brothers and Hans Christian Andersen, which in the Land of Stories series’s wrote that all the stories were situations that happened in the Land of Stories, but we can only assume that the place is not real。Before reading this book, all the fairytales I knew were from Disney’s cartoons。 Some stories in this book I have never heard before and some stories are different from the ones I knoew。 for example, the story of the L This book contains the original version of the fairytales written by the Grimm brothers and Hans Christian Andersen, which in the Land of Stories series’s wrote that all the stories were situations that happened in the Land of Stories, but we can only assume that the place is not real。Before reading this book, all the fairytales I knew were from Disney’s cartoons。 Some stories in this book I have never heard before and some stories are different from the ones I knoew。 for example, the story of the Little Mermaid was married to Prince Eric in the movie but the original clsssic fairytale wrote that the Little a mermaid was turned into sea foam and she didn’t marrying the prince。If people want to read about fairytales ,I definitely recommend them to read this book to know more about them。 。。。more

I listened to the audiobook with A! I loved hearing the different versions of classic stories!

As in the Land of Stories series, Colfer is a narrator I feel I can trust。 I love the lush illustrations and Colfer's additions that help make the stories more personal and detailed。 They are definitely a bit watered down, though, and don't have the rich language from the originals。 As in the Land of Stories series, Colfer is a narrator I feel I can trust。 I love the lush illustrations and Colfer's additions that help make the stories more personal and detailed。 They are definitely a bit watered down, though, and don't have the rich language from the originals。 。。。more

I loved Chris’s retelling of classic fairy tales! Not as sugar coated as Disney’s and not as gruesome as the originals。 Perfect balance!
